GIS Technician – Part Time – On Call

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Executes and delivers GIS projects independently, ranging from simple to complex scopes and levels of difficulty.

• Develops databases and various mapping outputs to support reports and other project deliverables.

• Creates, organizes, manipulates, and retrieves GIS data for reporting, analysis, and presentation purposes.

• Conducts quality assurance on GIS data and associated graphic components.

• Applies concepts, practices, and procedures to extract and provide GIS data to clients.

• Prepares and maintains both internal and external project documentation, including quality control records.

• Offers support for AECOM’s Military Munitions Response information dashboard.

• Collaborates directly with Level I/II/III/IV GIS Specialists and Project Managers.

⛳️ Requirements

• High school diploma plus 4 years of relevant experience or a proven equivalency of experience and/or education.

• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• The successful candidate must pass a background check.

• A Bachelor’s degree in GIS, Geography, or a related field is preferred.

• 1+ years of GIS or other relevant experience or a demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education is preferred.

• Familiarity with ArcMap, ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online, ArcGIS Portal, and/or other relevant ArcGIS software, along with an understanding of the ESRI suite of products, is preferred.

• AutoCAD experience is preferred.

• Technical knowledge of geographic concepts, including coordinate systems, data collection methods, spatial data management, analysis, data visualization, and cartographic design, is preferred.
