GIS Solution Architect – Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• The GIS Solution Architect serves as the functional and technical expert for the comprehensive ArcGIS Utility Network solution design within a utility GIS modernization initiative.

• Manage the design of the ESRI ArcGIS Utility Network solution, including domain network definitions, tier configurations (radial and mesh), terminal assignments, containment associations, junction-edge connectivity rules, and network attribute definitions.

• Facilitate Fit-Gap workshops to compare the SmallWorld GDM schema and G/Technology module data models against the ESRI UN target architecture; document design choices and configuration justifications.

• Establish network topology validation standards, which include connectivity tolerance rules, dirty area management, subnetwork validation criteria, and pre-go-live network tracing acceptance tests.

• Design and oversee iterative mock migration cycles; set validation KPIs such as connectivity rate, attribute completeness, tracing accuracy, and spatial correctness while managing defect remediation through to go-live.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of TEN (10) years of professional work experience.

• At least FIVE (5) years of GIS consulting or technical experience in utility GIS, specializing in ESRI ArcGIS for utilities.

• Proven experience in full-lifecycle ESRI ArcGIS Utility Network implementations at electric, gas, or water utilities, in a lead architect or solution lead role.

• Expertise in ESRI UN configuration, including domain network creation, tier and terminal definition, subnetwork controller assignment, and network rule setup in ArcGIS Pro.

• Familiarity with G/Technology module feature class schemas (Electric, Gas, or Water) is required for assessing source data and scoping migrations.

• A Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution, or equivalent relevant experience, may substitute for formal education or an advanced degree.
