This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Direct geotechnical investigations, analyses, and design for infrastructure and transportation initiatives including bridges, highways, railways, airports, pipelines, and commercial projects.
• Organize and supervise subsurface explorations, laboratory testing, instrumentation monitoring, and interpretation of geotechnical data.
• Carry out analyses and design for foundations, retaining walls, slope stability, seepage, earthwork, and seismic/geohazard mitigation.
• Offer geotechnical support during construction activities such as grading, pile driving, drilled shafts, trenching, and foundation work.
• Review and validate geotechnical reports, construction documents, and consultant designs.
• Create project scopes, proposals, budgets, and schedules for geotechnical investigations and design services.
• Collaborate with clients, contractors, government agencies, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure project success and adherence to relevant standards.
• Guide and oversee junior engineers and technical staff while promoting quality assurance initiatives and professional growth.
• Assist with business development efforts and sustain strong client relationships through responsive technical leadership and project execution.
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering is mandatory; a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering is preferred.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is desirable.
• Over 15 years of experience in geotechnical engineering.
• Extensive knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles, soil and rock mechanics, slope stability, settlement analysis, earthquake engineering, pavement engineering, and groundwater hydrogeology.
• Experience in geotechnical investigations, foundation design, retaining structures, earthwork, and testing construction materials.
• Proficient in geotechnical software, including slope stability, pile modeling, and site response analysis tools.
• Familiarity with geotechnical standards, guidelines, and deliverables is advantageous.
• Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, organizational, and time management capabilities.
• Superior written and verbal communication skills with the ability to function effectively in a team setting.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers and reviewing technical outputs.
• A successful history of testimony (either trials or depositions) is a plus.
• Willingness to travel to project sites and access active construction locations in various environmental conditions.
