• Provide administrative and clerical support to the genetic counseling team, which includes scheduling and organizing appointments.
• Assist with the management of patient files, medical records, and genetic test orders, ensuring efficient and accurate processing.
• Triage and direct client and patient inquiries to the appropriate departments or external partners.
• Aid patients and healthcare providers in coordinating genetic counseling services.
• Facilitate communication among patients, healthcare providers, laboratory partners, and internal teams to ensure seamless service delivery.
• Manage and track straightforward test orders, ensuring timely execution and follow-up with both internal and external parties.
• Act as a liaison between the laboratory, healthcare providers, and patients, ensuring inquiries and issues are resolved promptly and professionally.
• Maintain effective and clear communication with laboratory clients and partners, providing updates and addressing concerns as necessary.
• Ensure that detailed and accurate records are kept for patient information and genetic test results, while adhering to privacy and confidentiality regulations.
• Support the coordination of patient medical records between various internal teams and external clients, ensuring compliance with healthcare standards and regulations.
• Comply with all relevant standards, including HIPAA regulations, to maintain the confidentiality of patient information.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives within the genetic counseling process by proposing and implementing operational enhancements.
• Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Healthcare Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
• 1-2 years of experience in administrative or clinical support, preferably in genetics, healthcare, or a related area.
• Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
• Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.
• Capability to manage multiple tasks and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information appropriately.
