This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.
• Execute technical tasks encompassing mechanical, electrical, troubleshooting, and repair work on generators.
• Deliver emergency and unscheduled generator repairs during regular hours as well as after-hours, including weekends and holidays as assigned.
• Conduct scheduled preventative maintenance services and/or repairs for generators.
• Interpret operational manuals, electrical schematics, universal generator literature, and work orders to carry out necessary maintenance and/or repairs.
• Identify faulty operations, defective materials, and report these along with any unusual circumstances to the service manager promptly.
• Remain updated on National Fire Protection Association and State regulations regarding Emergency Power Supply Systems.
• Generate reports for all work completed in FieldServio.
• Communicate report findings through various channels, including phone calls, emails, and face-to-face interactions.
• Oversee the commissioning of equipment for industrial and MPS products.
• High School Diploma.
• Valid Driver License.
• Four years of experience in servicing and troubleshooting Emergency Power Supply Systems (EPSS).
• Proficient understanding of mechanical design, AC and DC circuitry, power generation, wiring schematics, and connection diagrams.
• Familiarity with engine maintenance and troubleshooting of natural gas fuel systems.
• Knowledge of power generation systems, including light towers, pumps, and heating products.
• Solid understanding of diesel or gaseous engines.
• Exceptional troubleshooting abilities, capable of making independent decisions and working with minimal supervision.
• Knowledgeable in transfer switch operations.
• Capacity to obtain and maintain Generac certification in air-cooled and protector series courses.
• Strong ability to collaborate and communicate effectively with others.
• Capability to provide detailed reports within a 24-hour timeframe.
• Proficient in managing and responding to emails, texts, and phone calls safely and promptly.
• Excellent conflict resolution skills.
• Able to observe, identify, and communicate critical information to the company, customers, or coworkers.
