This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Ireland.
• Formulate and execute the strategic vision and business plan for the Kraken CASP Broker/Custodian;
• Spot new business opportunities to ensure Kraken's competitiveness in the crypto-asset landscape;
• Cultivate an environment that promotes innovation and ongoing improvement;
• Manage the daily operations of the CASP Broker/Custodian, ensuring both efficiency and effectiveness;
• Lead the senior leadership team of the Kraken CASP Broker/Custodian, aligning with Kraken’s corporate objectives and regulatory standards;
• Create and track performance metrics to evaluate operational success;
• Guarantee that the Kraken CASP Broker/Custodian adheres to all aspects of MiCA;
• Collaborate with regulatory authorities, including the Central Bank of Ireland and the European Securities and Markets Authority (ESMA);
• Establish robust compliance and risk management frameworks;
• Supervise financial performance, budgeting, and forecasting;
• Ensure financial operations comply with applicable laws and regulations;
• Report financial status and strategic initiatives to the board of directors;
• Maintain solid relationships and transparent communication with key internal and external stakeholders;
• Represent the Kraken CASP Broker/Custodian at industry events, conferences, and public forums;
• Identify, evaluate, and manage risks related to the Kraken CASP Broker/Custodian’s operations;
• Develop strategies to mitigate risks and ensure business continuity;
• Ensure compliance with Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) regulations;
• Implement effective corporate governance practices;
• Collaborate closely with the board of directors to create and execute governance policies;
• Keep the board of directors regularly updated on the Kraken CASP Broker/Custodian’s performance and strategic direction;
• Attract, retain, and nurture top talent to build a high-performing team;
• Promote a positive and inclusive workplace culture;
• Oversee executive compensation and development programs;
• Authorized to work in Ireland, or willing to relocate to Ireland;
• Over 15 years of extensive experience in the financial services sector, particularly in crypto-assets or digital currencies, with a proven track record in senior leadership;
• Comprehensive understanding of the MiCA regulatory framework, crypto-asset markets, and financial regulations;
• Strong leadership abilities, strategic thinking, financial insight, and exceptional communication skills;
• Advanced degree in Business Administration, Finance, Law, or a related discipline;
• Relevant professional certifications in finance, compliance, or management are preferred;
