This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Oversee the most intricate and high-value homeowner property claims for the company, which often involve substantial complexity, severity, and visibility.
• Formulate claim strategies early on and drive the execution through to resolution, ensuring accuracy, defensibility, and alignment with company goals.
• Act as a technical authority and escalation point for challenging coverage issues and large-loss cases.
• Conduct thorough coverage analysis and make independent, impactful claim decisions.
• Manage all facets of first-party property losses, which include litigated, pre-litigation, and complex multi-party claims.
• Maintain exemplary file documentation to support coverage positions and litigation defense.
• Foster trusted relationships with insured clients, brokers, family office representatives, attorneys, and advisors.
• Provide a high-touch, discreet service model that aligns with the expectations of high-net-worth clients.
• Handle sensitive, high-exposure claims with professionalism, composure, and strong communication skills.
• Direct independent adjusters, experts, and vendors in the investigation, scoping, and evaluation of claims.
• Determine suitable repair or replacement strategies for complex or custom properties.
• Assess and pursue subrogation opportunities when appropriate.
• Draft and issue reservation of rights and denial letters that are supported by clear policy language and claim facts.
• Engage and manage counsel, engineers, forensic accountants, and other experts.
• Evaluate exposure, set and adjust reserves, and actively oversee litigation strategies.
• Lead high-stakes negotiations, mediations, and dispute resolution processes.
• Exercise settlement authority in accordance with role seniority and financial controls.
• Drive prompt, fair resolutions that balance client experience with indemnity discipline.
• Collaborate closely with underwriting on renewal strategies, risk insights, and large-loss trends.
• Work with finance, actuarial, operations, and product teams to inform broader business strategies.
• Prepare executive-level claim summaries and present large-loss issues to senior leadership.
• Ensure strict adherence to all internal guidelines and regulatory standards.
• Provide leadership support during catastrophe events, including potential deployment.
• Travel as required (~20%) based on claims and business needs.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 8+ years of experience in property claims, including significant large-loss and/or high-net-worth exposure.
• Demonstrated experience functioning at a General Adjuster or equivalent senior level.
• Advanced knowledge in coverage analysis, litigation management, and claim strategy.
• Proven success in managing high-severity claims with independence and sound judgment.
• Outstanding communication skills with the ability to engage with sophisticated stakeholders.
• Strong organizational skills with the capability to manage complex, high-value inventories.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office and claims management systems.
• Willingness to adjust schedule based on business and catastrophe requirements.
