This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New Jersey.
• Conduct investigations into claims made against insurance or other companies related to personal, casualty, or property loss or damages.
• Manage complex losses independently up to the specified authority level.
• Provide assistance on larger claims, including those based on accounting, such as business interruption and stock losses.
• Review claim forms and documentation to ascertain insurance coverage.
• Communicate with claimants and witnesses through interviews, phone calls, or correspondence.
• Consult police and hospital records as needed.
• Assess property damage to evaluate the extent of the company's liability.
• Estimate costs for repairs, replacements, or compensation.
• Compile findings in reports and negotiate settlements with claimants.
• Suggest litigation by the legal department if settlements cannot be reached.
• Attend litigation hearings as required.
• Update case reserves to account for anticipated costs.
• Assist in developing loss experience reports and calculating appropriate future rates.
• Carry out other assigned tasks and contribute to quality programs.
• Travel as necessary.
• A bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is preferred.
• The IIA-AIC designation must be obtained.
• Active pursuit of another professional insurance designation is required.
• A valid state adjuster license is mandatory.
• A minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience or a suitable combination of education and experience is required.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills, including presentation abilities.
• Proficiency in PC usage, including Microsoft Office applications.
• Proven commitment to timely reporting.
• Strong customer service aptitude.

• Effective time management and organizational capabilities.

• Capability to drive for up to 4 hours each day.
• Continuous use of manual dexterity is required.
