Gas Turbine Specialist – On Site Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Carry out tasks in line with GE EHS and Quality standards.

• Fulfill all necessary pre-job planning and post-job reporting to satisfy customer requirements, as directed.

• Oversee turbine alignment initiatives by gathering precision measurement data using FARO laser, analyzing and interpreting results, and suggesting casing and bearing modifications based on specifications.

• Exhibit expertise in all facets of the On-Site Machining (OSM) service portfolio, with the capability to autonomously complete assignments to the customer's satisfaction.

• Deliver consistent OSS progress updates to the OSS Service Manager and the project customer team.

• Offer technical guidance to personnel executing tasks at customer locations in accordance with technical specifications.

• Assist OSS Supervisors on significant repair and machining assignments as required.

• Undertake specialized responsibilities, including implementing projects assigned by OSS resource managers, developing innovative service solutions, providing training to the wider OSS team, and fostering a culture of safety, quality, and customer focus onsite.

• Mentor and nurture OSS technicians through practical training and leadership.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree or high school diploma/GED with over 4 years of relevant industry experience.

• At least 3 years of field service repair or factory/turbine repair experience.

• Practical experience with portable on-site machining, especially with large lathes, boring bars, drills, and mills.

• Proven technical understanding of turbine components and repair methods within power generation settings.

• Willingness and ability to travel extensively, without restrictions, both domestically and internationally.

• Readiness to work overtime and second shifts as required.
