
Gas Turbine Specialist – On Site Services

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Execute tasks in compliance with GE EHS and Quality standards.
• Carry out pre-job planning and post-job reporting activities.
• Prepare machinery and tools, order necessary parts and supplies, and develop/review EHS Safety Plans and Quality Plans.
• Oversee turbine alignment projects utilizing Faro Laser or optical precision measurement techniques.
• Analyze and interpret measurement data, providing recommendations and managing equipment casing and bearing adjustments.
• Independently perform On-Site Machining service tasks.
• Conduct turbine rotor machining, turbine casing machining repairs, and valve seat retrofits.
• Provide progress updates to the OSS Service Manager and the project customer team.
• Offer technical guidance to personnel working at client locations.
• Direct crew responsibilities and assignments to ensure projects are completed safely, on time, and with high-quality results.
• Assist OSS Supervisors on significant repair and machining projects.
• Innovate service offerings and provide training to the wider OSS team.
• Promote a culture of safety, quality, and customer focus on-site.
• Complete safety observations, quality documentation, daily turnover logs, and final reports for customers.
• Mentor and develop OSS technicians in the field.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned.
• Bachelor’s Degree or a High School Diploma accompanied by over 4 years of relevant industry experience.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in gas or steam turbine technologies.
• Willingness and ability to travel extensively without restrictions, both domestically and internationally.
• Willingness and ability to work overtime and during the second shift.
• Legally authorized to work in the United States.
• Successful completion of a background check and drug screening.
• Strong personal commitment to environmental health and safety.
• Profound dedication to integrity.
• Qualified to operate Faro Laser or similar equipment.
• Extensive experience and expertise in repairing and machining power-generation turbine equipment.
• Able to gain access to and work in nuclear power plants, maritime facilities, and in countries outside of the United States.
• A minimum of 10 years of Field Service or factory machining repair experience.
• Experience in developing work instructions and leading an hourly union workforce.
• Capacity to communicate effectively and earn and maintain customer respect.
• Familiarity with portable machining repairs and the ability to interpret drawings and specifications.
• Curiosity and a readiness to suggest improvements, new ideas, and technical instructions.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in customer-facing situations.
