Fund Finance Underwriting Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Formulate and execute underwriting strategies, policies, and guidelines for various product lines, ensuring they align with the organization's objectives and profitability goals.

• Assess intricate information from diverse sources (financial documents, market data, etc.) to determine the risk levels linked to insuring individuals or entities.

• Evaluate and underwrite fund finance structures, including rated feeder funds, CFOs, and NAV lending facilities.

• Create and maintain Excel models to assess cash flow structures and collateral performance.

• Employ and interpret methodologies from rating agencies (Moody’s, S&P, Fitch), emphasizing sensitivities, structural strengths, and significant risk factors.

• Facilitate the underwriting process by preparing comprehensive credit memos, risk assessments, and reports in the style of rating agencies.

• Work alongside senior underwriters to ensure that transaction analysis is in accordance with internal frameworks and partner expectations.

• Perform scenario and stress testing based on multiple rating assumptions.

• Monitor market trends in fund finance, including updates from rating agencies, regulatory shifts, and investor behaviors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of experience in fund finance, structured credit, or a comparable role within a rating agency or analytical environment.

• Strong understanding of rated feeders, CFOs, or NAV lending facilities.

• Experience with rating agency methodologies and the capability to interpret and apply them effectively in underwriting.

• Expertise in Excel-based modeling and credit analysis.

• Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to clearly convey technical findings.

• Motivated self-starter, able to work independently.
