Fund Finance Underwriting Director

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Tennessee.

📋 Description

• Formulate and execute underwriting strategies, policies, and guidelines for various product lines, ensuring they align with the organization's objectives and profitability.

• Evaluate intricate information from diverse sources (financial documents, market data, etc.) to assess the risk levels associated with insuring individuals or entities.

• Analyze and underwrite fund finance structures, including rated feeder funds, CFOs, and NAV lending facilities.

• Create and maintain Excel models to assess cash flow structures and collateral performance.

• Utilize and interpret rating agency methodologies (Moody’s, S&P, Fitch), emphasizing sensitivities, structural strengths, and crucial risk factors.

• Assist in the underwriting process by preparing comprehensive credit memos, risk assessments, and reports resembling rating agency formats.

• Work collaboratively with senior underwriters to ensure that transaction analyses conform to internal frameworks and partner expectations.

• Perform scenario and stress testing across a variety of rating assumptions.

• Monitor market developments in fund finance, including updates from rating agencies, regulatory changes, and trends among investors.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in business administration, economics, finance, or a related discipline.

• Over 10 years of experience in fund finance, structured credit, or a comparable role in a rating agency or analytical capacity.

• Strong understanding of rated feeders, CFOs, or NAV lending facilities.

• Experience with rating agency methodologies and the capability to interpret and apply them in underwriting practices.

• Expertise in Excel-based modeling and credit analysis.

• Exceptional analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving abilities.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the capacity to clearly convey technical findings.

• Motivated self-starter who can work independently.

• Ability to perform under pressure and manage multiple tasks and projects concurrently.
