Functional Project Manager

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee client-facing HRIS and Payroll integration projects from initiation to go-live and stabilization.

• Conduct discovery sessions with stakeholders from HR, Payroll, Finance, and IT to establish scope, requirements, timelines, and success criteria.

• Convert business and operational requirements into organized documentation, including data mapping and integration flow diagrams.

• Collaborate with internal technical consultants and external parties to ensure alignment, accountability, and execution.

• Actively manage risks, dependencies, and changes in scope, especially in relation to payroll timing, compliance, or downstream financial reporting.

• Track project health, communicate progress effectively, and facilitate decision-making when trade-offs are necessary.

• Assist in post-launch validation to ensure integrations function as expected in real-world scenarios.

• Identify opportunities for expansion or optimization and prepare change requests when appropriate.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3 years of project management experience in delivering technology projects within a client-facing context (SaaS, implementations, integrations, or similar).

• Proficiency in English, both written and spoken.

• Experience with HRIS and/or Payroll systems, or leading projects that involve employee/payroll data as a key input/output.

• Capability to oversee the entire project lifecycle: kickoff → discovery → delivery → go-live → stabilization.

• Strong skills in requirements facilitation: conducting workshops, capturing decisions, and translating needs into clear project deliverables and documentation.

• Solid understanding of scope, timelines, risks, dependencies, and change control across multiple simultaneous projects.

• High level of ownership and follow-through in a fully remote work environment.
