This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Argentina.
• Act as the primary technical authority and client-facing consultant for application, data, and reporting projects.
• Analyze Excel-dependent workflows, formulas, workbooks, and reporting constraints to pinpoint inefficiencies and instability.
• Develop migration strategies from Excel-driven processes to SQL, centralized reporting frameworks, and Power BI dashboards.
• Assess data pipelines, ingestion processes, reporting limitations, and platform restrictions while proposing architectural enhancements.
• Oversee and mentor one developer working on an operational Django/JavaScript application hosted on Windows Server/IIS.
• Transfer code from local storage to a managed version control system and implement CI/CD practices to replace manual deployment methods.
• Perform thorough code reviews and suggest actionable solutions for addressing technical debt.
• Establish structured application-level logging, monitoring dashboards, and alert systems to enhance basic server statistics tracking.
• Define and implement SDLC governance, development standards, data retention policies, and documentation for developer onboarding.
• Present a practical roadmap that includes quick wins, execution priorities, and long-term modernization opportunities.
• Lead and manage nearshore or distributed teams, assign task-specific work, and ensure alignment with business objectives.
• Serve as an escalation point and technical liaison for leadership, balancing direct project delivery with advisory roles.
• Discover opportunities for automation, AI, and RPA to enhance scalability in future phases.
• 8–10+ years of experience in full-stack software engineering, technical leadership, data engineering, BI architecture, or similar fields.
• Practical experience in Django and Python backend development.
• Proficient in JavaScript frontend development.
• Strong understanding of SQL Server, SQL, data modeling, and principles of scalable database design.
• Experience with Power BI and centralized reporting/dashboard solutions.
• Proven track record in setting up, managing, or enhancing CI/CD pipelines using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions, or similar tools.
• Hands-on experience with Windows Server environments, IIS, staging setups, and operational production applications.
• Comprehensive knowledge of application security principles, including authentication processes, secrets management, input validation, access control, and user provisioning.
• Established ability to conduct code reviews, evaluate technical debt, communicate findings, and recommend effective remediation strategies.
• Experience in modernizing Excel-based reporting systems or transitioning business workflows to scalable data and reporting platforms.
• Capability to function as a hybrid architect, hands-on leader, and advisor in a dynamic, resource-limited setting.
