Fullstack Developer – Java, Kotlin

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Portugal.

📋 Description

• Design and create scalable backend applications utilizing Node.js and ExpressJS, ensuring the code is clean, maintainable, and well-organized.

• Develop, optimize, and secure robust RESTful APIs and microservices capable of managing high-throughput production workloads.

• Architect effective relational database models (SQL), enhancing complex queries and overseeing schema design to maintain transaction integrity.

• Engage actively in technical decision-making, system architecture design, and the ongoing enhancement of the engineering lifecycle.

• Participate significantly in code reviews, offering constructive architectural feedback to team members to ensure compliance with corporate quality standards.

• Diagnose, debug, and resolve intricate production issues promptly, ensuring high system availability.

• Collaborate closely with cross-functional and international teams to convert technical and business requirements into production-ready software solutions.

• Promote a strong DevOps culture by utilizing containerization (Docker) to facilitate local development and streamline production deployment pipelines.

• Actively engage in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, daily standups, technical refinement, and retrospectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of demonstrated professional experience in backend software engineering.

• Strong expertise and production-level experience with Node.js and ExpressJS.

• Extensive hands-on experience with relational databases (SQL), data modeling, and performance optimization.

• In-depth knowledge in designing, implementing, and securing RESTful APIs and service orchestration.

• Practical experience with containerization tools, particularly Docker, for application environment management.

• Proficient in version control systems, especially Git, along with continuous integration processes.

• Fluent or advanced English communication skills, with the ability to work daily in an international and distributed team setting.

• Strong problem-solving abilities, technical independence, and a commitment to best practices in software engineering.
