Full Time Faculty Assistant or Associate Professor – Director of Social Work Fieldwork

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Alabama, +12 more states.

📋 Description

• Design, implement, evaluate, and instruct online courses within the Social Work programs, ensuring they meet program objectives and accreditation requirements.

• Guide and assist students, adjunct faculty, staff, and other stakeholders to enhance student achievement and uphold program quality.

• Actively participate in field education activities, including aiding students in obtaining, navigating, and successfully completing fieldwork placements in partnership with community organizations and agencies.

• Aid in the organization, oversight, and assessment of field placements to ensure compliance with CSWE competencies and program standards.

• Build and sustain relationships with community organizations to broaden and maintain high-quality field placement opportunities.

• Engage in service to the discipline, profession, and institution, including participation in committees and community involvement, both within and outside the university.

• Exhibit professional and collegial behavior that promotes mutual respect, trust, transparent communication, and proper confidentiality with faculty, staff, and university administration.

• Contribute to the continual development, assessment, and improvement of the program.

• Carry out additional duties and projects as assigned in collaboration with the Dean, consistent with the faculty role expectations specified in the Faculty Manual.

⛳️ Requirements

• Earned Doctorate (PhD, DSW, or a closely related field) in Social Work or a related area from an accredited institution; ABD candidates may be considered with degree completion by the start date.

• Master of Social Work (MSW) from a CSWE accredited program.

• A minimum of two (2) years of professional practice experience in social work after obtaining the MSW.

• Proven experience in field education, including supervision, coordination, or teaching in practicum/fieldwork environments.

• Demonstrated capability to engage with, support, and mentor students in securing and successfully completing fieldwork placements, including collaboration with community partners and agencies.

• Experience teaching in higher education, preferably in online asynchronous formats.

• Strong commitment to student-centered teaching and supporting a diverse population of adult learners.

• Excellent organizational, communication, and collaboration skills.

• Proven expertise in developing and delivering current, market-relevant, and engaging curriculum, assessments, and learning activities in an online-first Learning Management System (LMS).

• Experience utilizing data-informed strategies to improve student success and retention.

• Ability to work collegially and collaboratively with faculty, staff, students, and professionals across various disciplines.
