This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and sustain frontend features utilizing Vue 3, TypeScript, and Tailwind CSS.
• Produce clean, semantic, and accessible HTML along with responsive CSS.
• Enhance rendering performance, ensure browser compatibility, and optimize load times.
• Troubleshoot production UI challenges, edge cases, and discrepancies across devices.
• Create and modify backend services within a frameworkless PHP 8.3 monolith and newer Laravel services.
• Handle MySQL-backed systems and production data with a strong emphasis on data integrity and security.
• Ensure the stability of core functionalities while facilitating modernization initiatives.
• Engage in an on-call rotation to address production incidents.
• Manage production server infrastructure, containerized services, and deployment tools.
• Contribute to the monitoring, alerting, and observability of the platform.
• Assist in maintaining and enhancing CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and release processes.
• Participate in and conduct code reviews, providing constructive and specific feedback.
• Develop and refine automated tests to minimize regressions and bolster confidence in deployments.
• Document your work, including technical decisions, system behaviors, and operational runbooks.
• Identify and implement enhancements to team development workflows.
• Collaborate with Product, Design, and Engineering leadership to align on priorities and scope.
• Clearly communicate status updates, blockers, and technical trade-offs both in writing and verbally.
• Make prioritization decisions within your responsibilities, linking tasks to customer and business outcomes.
• Support teammates in their growth through knowledge sharing, pair programming, and constructive reviews.
• Advocate when necessary, suggest alternatives with supporting evidence, and commit to the chosen path by the team.
• Over 5 years of professional software engineering experience, with a minimum of 2 years developing production applications in Vue.js or a similar component framework.
• Strong expertise in HTML, CSS, and modern JavaScript/TypeScript.
• Excellent debugging abilities across both frontend and backend, including browser behavior and rendering performance.
• Experience in building and utilizing REST APIs supported by relational databases (MySQL or similar).
• Proficient in PHP in production environments, including working with codebases that operate without a framework.
• Proven ability to work within, enhance, and modernize existing systems without causing disruptions.
• Experience in writing automated tests at various levels (unit, integration, end-to-end).
• Comfortable navigating ambiguity: defining work from unclear inputs, making trade-offs, and adjusting when requirements evolve.
• Willingness to participate in an on-call rotation and address production incidents.
• Proficient with Linux command line and SSH for operations on production and development servers.
• Clear and effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to explain technical decisions to non-engineers.
• Base salary range: $110,000–$150,000, adjusted based on location.
• Additional compensation may include bonuses and/or equity.
• 100% remote team (30 members, no corporate office).
