Full Stack Software Engineer – Authoring Tools

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Greece, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Design and deliver full-stack functionalities for Authoring Tools, encompassing backend logic and refined frontend experiences.

• Take ownership of frontend architecture in Vue.js, contributing to the evolution of consistent engineering practices.

• Develop clean and scalable backend services in PHP, emphasizing performance, robustness, and maintainability.

• Manage your work from start to finish, including problem analysis, estimation, implementation, code reviews, iteration, and release.

• Navigate multiple projects and initiatives simultaneously while adapting to evolving requirements, priorities, and scope.

• Collaborate closely with Product Managers and designers to discuss solutions, share technical context, and shape the final product.

• Actively participate in code reviews and provide constructive feedback.

• Make practical decisions regarding modern and legacy code, such as when to enhance, refactor, or build upon existing solutions.

• Utilize AI-powered coding tools like Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, and Cursor during development and code reviews.

• Balance technical excellence with speed, customer impact, product context, and business realities.

• Develop authoring tools that empower LearnWorlds customers to create scalable learning experiences.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 5 years of professional software development experience, preferably in complex SaaS or product environments.

• Strong expertise in modern JavaScript and Vue.js.

• Comprehensive understanding of frontend architecture, design patterns, anti-patterns, and maintainable UI development.

• Proficient in PHP and capable of working confidently across backend services.

• Frontend-oriented full-stack mindset, with the ability to understand, debug, and contribute across the entire stack.

• In-depth knowledge of RESTful APIs, HTTP fundamentals, and contemporary frontend application architecture.

• Practical experience with relational databases such as MySQL and PostgreSQL.

• Hands-on experience with NoSQL databases including MongoDB.

• Strong software engineering principles and the ability to articulate technical trade-offs.

• Experience in working with and evolving legacy codebases.

• Exceptional debugging, problem-solving, and performance optimization skills.

• Ability to work independently, manage shifting requirements, and take ownership of delivery and release.

• Excellent communication and collaboration skills, including the ability to provide and receive constructive technical feedback.

• High attention to detail and a product-oriented mindset.

• Comfortable utilizing AI-assisted development tools in daily engineering tasks.

• Native or near-native Greek speaker with a proficient command of English.

• Nice-to-have: experience with complex authoring tools, editors, content creation experiences, or highly interactive web applications.

• Nice-to-have: familiarity with Docker, Kubernetes, or microservices architectures.

• Nice-to-have: exposure to or interest in Go.

• Nice-to-have: experience in EdTech, LMS systems, or complex SaaS products.

• Nice-to-have: experience working in small, autonomous engineering teams across multiple parallel product initiatives.

• Nice-to-have: experience collaborating closely with product designers and contributing technical insights during the design process.
