This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.
• Design, develop, maintain, and enhance applications utilizing Spring Boot (MVC and WebFlux), React, and the Microsoft/Java technology stack when applicable.
• Convert business requirements into functional, secure, and scalable solutions.
• Create and manage APIs (REST), integrate messaging queues, and implement asynchronous/event-driven architectures.
• Oversee database schema design and migrations for MySQL/PostgreSQL; enhance queries and overall performance.
• Engage in infrastructure-as-code initiatives (Terraform or similar) and deploy across various AWS environments (ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, SSM).
• Protect APIs with OAuth2/Spring Security utilizing JWT and policy-based authorization.
• Maintain, upgrade, and refactor existing codebases to boost efficiency and performance.
• Develop and uphold unit and integration tests (JUnit, Mockito), while supporting CI/CD processes and observability (OpenTelemetry/distributed tracing).
• Collaborate with product, QA, and distributed engineering teams; take part in Agile sprints and conduct code reviews.
• Ensure the delivery of error-free code that adheres to best practices, design patterns, and security standards.
• Mentor colleagues, investigate and resolve production issues, and promote continuous improvement.
• At least 4 years of hands-on experience with Java and Spring Boot (MVC and/or WebFlux/Reactor).
• Robust experience with React, REST APIs, HTML5, CSS3, and Bootstrap for responsive UI design.
• Strong background in relational databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL): schema design, migrations, and performance optimization.
• Familiarity with messaging systems (RabbitMQ, AWS SQS/SNS, or similar) and event-driven architectures.
• Practical experience with AWS services (Lambda, ECS, S3, RDS, SSM).
• Understanding of OAuth2/Spring Security, JWT, and policy-based authorization.
• Testing expertise with JUnit, Mockito, or comparable frameworks.
• Strong grasp of performance, security, best practices, and design patterns.
• Experience with Web Services; knowledge of WCF or .NET is advantageous but not required.
