This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Virginia.

📋 Description

• Oversee a range of diverse technology projects while managing a team of developers focused on creating distributed microservices and full-stack systems.

• Share insights on technology trends, engage in experimentation and learning of new technologies, contribute to both internal and external technology communities, and provide mentorship to engineers.

• Work collaboratively with digital product managers to deliver solid cloud-based solutions that empower millions of Americans financially.

• Utilize programming languages and technologies such as Java, Scala, Python, Go, Node.js, JavaScript, TypeScript, open-source RDBMS, NoSQL databases, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS tools and services.

• Offer technical leadership across various teams, influencing system architecture and guiding long-term technological strategy.

• Spearhead the end-to-end design and implementation of large-scale, distributed, or cloud-native systems that meet high reliability and performance standards.

• Collaborate with architects and product leaders to outline platform roadmaps and shared-services strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Computer Science or a related quantitative discipline (Statistics, Economics, Operations Research, Analytics, Mathematics, Engineering).

• A minimum of 6 years of experience in software engineering; internship experience is not included.

• At least 3 years of experience with public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure), cloud-based productivity tools, or virtualization technologies.

• Preferred: A Master's Degree in Computer Science or a related field.

• Preferred: Over 9 years of coding experience with more than two of Go, Java, JavaScript/TypeScript, Python, Rust, C#, Scala.

• Preferred: Over 5 years of experience with front-end JavaScript or TypeScript frameworks.

• Preferred: More than 5 years creating synchronous and asynchronous APIs.
