This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in New York.
• Implement new functionalities in the Ruby on Rails application throughout the entire stack.
• Collaborate with operations and sales teams to create professional and practical solutions.
• Guide AI coding agents by defining problems, setting constraints, evaluating outputs, and taking responsibility for results.
• Enhance system and code quality through Test-Driven Development (TDD) and refactoring.
• Produce specifications, architecture decision records, and product documentation.
• Expand internal tools, including skills, subagents, and CLI helpers.
• Develop AI-facing product interfaces such as the Ad Intelligence MCP server, encompassing authentication, policy gates, and audit logging.
• Improve usability of existing features using Turbo, Stimulus, and other front-end enhancements.
• Diagnose and resolve performance issues and complex logic in Postgres and ClickHouse.
• Streamline the system through effective design choices.
• Experiment with temporary solutions, scripting, SQL exports, and web scraping.
• Provide operational support and resolve bugs during standard business hours.
• Engage in internal hackathons.
• Work collaboratively in an Agile development environment, focusing on collective code ownership, regular deployments, and retrospectives.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in software development.
• Proficiency in Agile web development methodologies, including practices like TDD and refactoring.
• Daily fluency in working with AI coding agents, or a strong desire to do so.
• Ability to critically assess AI agent outputs rather than accepting them at face value.
• Strong writing skills for specifications, architecture decision records, and documentation intended for non-engineers.
• Preferred: Experience with Ruby on Rails.
• Preferred: Knowledge of ClickHouse.
• Preferred: Proficiency in Python.
• Preferred: Residing in or around NYC.
• Preferred: Experience in designing MCP servers or other APIs for large language models (LLMs).
• Preferred: Background in ad tech.
• Preferred: Interest in the podcasting industry.
