Full Stack Developer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in South Africa.

📋 Description

• Design, develop, and enhance scalable front-end and back-end functionalities utilizing contemporary JavaScript frameworks and industry best practices.

• Create, maintain, and evolve RESTful APIs along with supporting application services.

• Produce clean, maintainable, well-documented, and testable code.

• Develop and sustain automated unit and integration tests.

• Engage in peer code reviews and participate in technical design discussions.

• Generate and uphold technical documentation for systems, services, and APIs.

• Collaborate with team members and stakeholders to deliver solutions aligned with business objectives.

• Offer informal mentorship and share knowledge with junior developers.

• Monitor application performance using log analysis and observability tools.

• Troubleshoot incidents, address service interruptions, and implement preventative enhancements.

• Optimize PostgreSQL queries and aid in performance tuning.

• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and deployment procedures.

• Utilize AI-assisted development tools for implementation, refactoring, test generation, debugging, and documentation purposes.

• Assess and validate AI-generated outputs for accuracy, security, maintainability, and alignment with engineering standards.

• Integrate responsible AI-assisted workflows into development practices.

• Keep abreast of emerging technologies and industry best practices.

• Build, refine, and document standard operating procedures for development workflows.

• Execute other duties as assigned.

⛳️ Requirements

• A minimum of 3–5 years of relevant development experience is required.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification.

• Strong expertise in Node.js.

• Strong expertise in React.js.

• Comprehensive understanding of modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3.

• Practical experience with PostgreSQL, including schema design and optimized queries.

• Hands-on experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest or Mocha.

• Knowledge of RESTful API design and integration best practices.

• Proficiency in Git-based version control, including branching and merging.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies, preferably Docker.

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines and foundational cloud infrastructure.

• Capability to analyze application logs, trace system-level issues, and assist with production troubleshooting.

• Basic understanding of performance monitoring and optimization techniques.

• Experience using AI-assisted tools for software development.

• Ability to evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated code and documentation.

• Awareness of responsible AI usage in production, including security, quality, and governance considerations.

• Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, prioritization, and deadline management abilities.

• Self-motivated and independent.

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced and demanding environment.

• Proficiency in Google Workspace or similar business tools.
