Full Stack Developer, All Levels

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Create software for mission operations, engineering support, internal monitoring, and various applications.

• Collaborate with stakeholders to identify software requirements and establish design criteria and use cases.

• Integrate and evaluate software applications for reliability, functionality, and performance.

• Build high-performance back-end tools for intricate workflows and extensive datasets.

• Design web-based and desktop front-end user interfaces.

• Develop automated pipelines for regression testing, pre-deployment verification and validation, deployment, and patching.

• Ensure that software complies with relevant security standards and data protection requirements.

• Plan, design, develop, deploy, maintain, and integrate Astrolab's proprietary software tools.

⛳️ Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in a science, technology, engineering, or mathematics (STEM) related discipline.

• Over 1 year of experience with Python, JavaScript, TypeScript, and other commonly used programming languages for software development.

• Familiarity with automated testing, CI/CD systems, infrastructure as code methodologies, and other contemporary software development tools and practices.

• A proficient software developer with significant hands-on experience in designing, architecting, developing, and testing code with minimal assistance from large language models.

• Preferred: Experience in developing human-rated safety-critical software applications.

• Preferred: Background in mission control or vehicle control software featuring web-based user interfaces.

• Preferred: Experience with engineering tools that facilitate manufacturing workflows, avionics testing, or vehicle integration and testing.

• Preferred: Experience with software for safety-critical medical applications.

• Preferred: Knowledge of database backends for effective management of large data sets and their relationships with web-based front ends.

• Preferred: Experience in implementing software that meets NIST 800-171 and NIST 800-53 security requirements.

• Preferred: Familiarity with static analysis, dynamic memory analysis, fuzz testing, penetration testing, and other methods for detecting security defects.

• Preferred: Understanding of NASA or DoD software safety standards and software certification processes.
