Fukienese VRI/OPI Interpreter

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Professionally respond to calls while adhering to the Interpreter's code of conduct.

• Always be ready to take notes during calls.

• Familiarize yourself with the industry-specific vocabulary, particularly in healthcare and medical fields - training will be provided.

• Accurately convey all messages in their entirety, refraining from adding, omitting, or substituting content.

• Deliver exceptional customer service throughout the interpretation process.

• Facilitate effective communication between Limited English Proficient individuals and Clients by providing precise and complete interpretations.

• Adhere to professional standards of practice.

• Participate in internal professional training.

• Show enthusiasm for obtaining new professional certifications.

• Maintain communication and report to your team leader.

• Follow dress code guidelines for video remote interpreting.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient in the source language (English) and a native speaker of the target language "Fukienese".

• A minimum of 1 year of experience in over-the-telephone interpretation at a reputable interpretation company is advantageous but not essential.

• Familiarity with medical terminology is beneficial but not required.

• Understanding of legal terminology is a plus.

• International certifications in the healthcare sector are advantageous (e.g., PICSI, ALTA, HIPAA, etc.).

• High school diploma in your native language.

• Possess high emotional intelligence and an appreciation for diverse cultures.

• Strong communication, listening, note-taking, and memory retention abilities are essential.
