This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Brazil.
• Instructing and guiding students in JavaScript, HTML, and CSS for the following courses:
• - WDD 130 - Web Fundamentals
• - WDD 131 – Dynamic Web Fundamentals
• - WDD 231 – Web Frontend Development I
• - WDD 330 - Web Frontend Development II
• Recognizing trends that may hinder academic achievement.
• Implementing focused outreach and delivering instruction to specific groups and individuals.
• Fostering capable learners who are self-assured in their academic and life successes.
• Maintaining consistent communication with students about their engagement and performance, while conducting outreach to ensure effective instruction and mentoring throughout the course.
• A profound understanding of and dedication to BYU Pathway Worldwide’s mission, unique attributes, and student demographics.
• Proficiency in both English and Portuguese (mandatory).
• Flexibility in adapting to new processes, procedures, and technological advancements.
• Exceptional interpersonal abilities: professional, respectful, and impartial in delicate situations.
• Demonstrated reliability and competence in meeting deadlines with minimal oversight.
• Skilled in Microsoft Office, video conferencing platforms, and field-specific software.
• Experience in online teaching/learning, particularly with at-risk students (preferred).
• A master’s degree in computer science or a related discipline along with two years of professional web development experience is preferred.
• A bachelor’s degree and 3-5 years of relevant work experience may also be accepted.
• Proficiency in the following technologies is essential: JavaScript, HTML, CSS, JSON.
• Knowledge of web design principles, including simplicity, responsiveness, usability, and visual appeal.
• Advanced expertise in fundamental web design and development concepts, such as DOM manipulation, form and event handling, JavaScript objects and functions, CSS layout and presentation, and data retrieval techniques.
• Familiarity with version control software, such as GitHub.
• Experience using code editors, such as Visual Studio Code.
• Proficiency with browser development tools, such as Chrome Developer Tools.
• Ability to communicate clearly in written form.
• Mandatory participation in periodic team meetings (as determined by the department).
