This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
β’ Design the long-term frontend architecture for our suite β which includes plain React applications, embeddable widgets, and a Next.js (App Router) application, with much of it being delivered as independently versioned shared packages.
β’ Propel practical advancements that scale in line with XCEED's growth β focusing on architecture that serves a purpose rather than for its own sake.
β’ Advocate for developer efficiency. Develop and uphold shared libraries, a design-token system, build/release pipelines, and CI/CD processes that enable our teams to deploy safely and swiftly β while ensuring our shared packages remain easy to release and utilize.
β’ Remain engaged with the code. Directly deliver production frontend work β especially in areas where frontend development can significantly improve β and set the standard through action, not merely documentation.
β’ Set frontend standards, best practices, and foster a fast yet thorough code-review culture. Serve as the technical reference for intricate frontend issues, while enhancing quality in aspects that may not be immediately visible but are crucial to an excellent product β including types, tests, tooling, observability, and security.
β’ Take ownership of Core Web Vitals, performance budgets, and accessibility (WCAG) with a mobile-first perspective, especially considering traffic spikes β from client-side bundle sizes and interaction latency in our React applications to SSR/ISR and SEO in our Next.js application.
β’ Empower the engineers around you and collaborate with Product, Design, and backend teams to transform ambitious ideas into technically robust, modular solutions β ensuring the design system and shared components are an asset, not a burden.
β’ 8+ years of experience in software/frontend engineering, demonstrating a successful history at the Staff/Principal level or leading extensive frontend projects from start to finish.
β’ Profound expertise in TypeScript and modern JavaScript, along with semantic HTML and advanced CSS using a design-token / utility approach (we implement Tailwind with a tokenized design system).
β’ Extensive, production-tested React expertise β you grasp the inner workings of React (reconciliation, rendering, the hooks model), not just the API, as most of our applications are plain React SPAs that manage their own routing, state, and bundling.
β’ Additionally, possess in-depth knowledge of Next.js App Router (Server Components, SSR/ISR, hydration) for the application where SEO is a priority.
β’ Strong proficiency in state management, caching, and data-fetching (we prefer TanStack Query over REST and GraphQL); client-side SPA architecture (routing, code-splitting, bundle budgets); and creating shared, versioned packages used across applications, including embeddable widgets.
β’ Comprehensive understanding of modern bundlers β Vite for our React apps and the Next.js pipeline (Webpack/Turbopack) β as well as package build-and-publish workflows and CI/CD automation (GitHub Actions with automated Playwright e2e).
β’ Unlimited Paid Time Off
β’ Flexible Working Hours
β’ Unlimited Remote Work
β’ Workation β the opportunity to work from anywhere, provided it aligns with your teamβs dynamics.
β’ Access to learning platforms (Codely, Coursera, MasterClass) with dedicated time for personal development.
β’ Team-building activities and meet-and-greet events.
β’ Go Out β Complimentary passes to XCEED partnersβ events to experience what our users do.
β’ Referral Program to assist us in finding exceptional talent.
