This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Hungary.
• Take ownership of frontend projects from start to finish, encompassing scoping through to production, particularly in Acceptance's payment surfaces, checkout components, and tools for merchants.
• Spearhead architectural decisions for the frontend systems you engage with, actively participating in design discussions and creating RFCs and ADRs with minimal dependence on senior engineers.
• Develop user interfaces that are composable, efficient, and adaptable — creating payment experiences that merchants can customize and extend to suit their products.
• Track the effects of your work in production, utilizing metrics and dashboards to proactively identify issues, and take full responsibility for resolving any problems that arise.
• Maintain a high standard of quality for your own code and proactively address any concerns regarding the codebase that do not meet this standard.
• Play an active role in incident response when necessary — leading the effort, driving towards a resolution, and keeping stakeholders informed throughout the process.
• Actively share your knowledge and contribute to enhancing the quality and confidence of your fellow engineers.
• Strong frontend engineering background, with proven experience in independently delivering production-quality work throughout the entire lifecycle.
• Significant experience with Typescript and preferably with web components.
• Capable of independently taking on a project, defining its scope, planning the architecture, and executing it without needing constant direction.
• Deep understanding of how to create accessible, performant, and maintainable UIs at scale, ideally in a setting where quality has a direct impact on end users or downstream integrations.
• Able to contribute effectively to architectural discussions and clearly communicate trade-offs.
• Produces clean, well-tested code that peers would regard as high quality, consistently adhering to those standards.
• Comprehends the user and business context behind the work, not merely the technical aspects.
• Communicates in a clear and direct manner, especially in asynchronous environments.
• Nice to have: Experience in building SDKs, embeddable components, or tools for developers.
• Familiarity with payments, checkout processes, or high-availability frontend systems.
• Unfortunately, we are currently unable to provide sponsorships or relocation packages.
