Front-End Lead – Digital Banking, Public Web Experience

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Oversee front-end engineering for new public websites aimed at financial institutions, especially credit unions.

• Develop reusable, CMS-driven components and templates for web pages.

• Convert the design system into a comprehensive component library with a focus on user experience.

• Connect front-end components with CMS APIs and structured content.

• Create responsive designs that function seamlessly across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices.

• Guarantee compliance with WCAG accessibility standards.

• Enhance Core Web Vitals, page performance, SEO, and rendering.

• Apply analytics, tagging, and consent-management requirements effectively.

• Integrate front-end user journeys with digital banking, account-opening, and other credit union platforms.

• Set up front-end architecture, coding standards, and development practices.

• Support headless or composable architectures where applicable.

• Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to other developers.

• Collaborate with QA teams for both automated and manual testing.

• Work alongside DevOps on CI/CD processes and environment management.

• Assist in migration testing, launching, and stabilization efforts.

• Develop reusable AEQ components and accelerators to minimize time and costs for future credit union website migrations.

⛳️ Requirements

• Proficient with Central1 Forge Digital Banking Experience, particularly its public website solution.

• Over 10 years of experience in modern front-end development.

• Strong background in React and TypeScript.

• Experience with Next.js is highly desirable.

• Proven experience in building enterprise-scale responsive websites.

• Skilled in integrating with CMS platforms using REST/GraphQL.

• Solid understanding of component architecture and design systems.

• Excellent foundation in HTML, CSS, and JavaScript.

• Strong knowledge of accessibility standards.

• Familiarity with SEO, performance optimization, and analytics.

• Experience in enterprise security and regulated environments.

• Background in financial services is preferred.

• Experience with one or more CMS platforms such as AEM, Sitecore, Kentico, Drupal, Sanity, dotCMS, Umbraco, or similar.
