This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead front-end development across various simultaneous client projects.
• Uphold UI architecture standards for scalable and maintainable applications built with React and Next.js.
• Take ownership of and report on practice KPIs through weekly, monthly, and quarterly dashboards and presentations.
• Conduct code reviews and maintain engineering standards.
• Establish and enforce performance budgets, conduct Lighthouse audits, evaluate Core Web Vitals, and accessibility assessments.
• Ensure responsive, cross-browser compatibility that adheres to WCAG 2.2 Level A standards and supports Level AA as required.
• Promote the adoption and upkeep of Storybook documentation, design tokens, and shared component libraries.
• Advocate for AI-enhanced front-end practices, including AI-supported code generation, RAG-ready interfaces, and telemetry-optimized experiences.
• Develop hiring strategies, assess staffing requirements, and plan for team expansion.
• Recruit, onboard, set clear expectations for, and assist new team members.
• Conduct one-on-one meetings, provide constructive feedback, and support performance, growth, and career advancement.
• Carry out performance evaluations and address performance issues in collaboration with HR.
• Oversee approvals, maintain staffing awareness, plan for performance, and engage in compensation discussions.
• Manage sensitive personnel issues, employment transitions, offboarding, and knowledge transfer processes.
• Act as a trusted advisor to clients, colleagues, and company leadership.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope, mitigate risks, and achieve predictable results.
• Assist in estimating and planning for front-end projects.
• Identify and resolve risks, obstacles, and technical debt.
• Over 7 years of professional experience in front-end development.
• More than 5 years in a technical management role.
• Strong expertise in TypeScript, React, and Next.js.
• Experience with intricate state management, server components, routing, and data-fetching techniques.
• Knowledge of front-end architectural patterns and scalability considerations for enterprise applications.
• Understanding of UI/UX principles, design systems, accessibility standards, and responsive design methodologies.
• Strong leadership and mentoring skills, including the ability to coach mid-level and senior engineers.
• Capacity to set expectations, hold teams accountable, and deliver direct, actionable feedback.
• Ability to function within a shared leadership model and collaborate with a Staff Developer.
• Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
• Skill in translating technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities while balancing leadership duties with technical responsibilities.
• High degree of ownership, accountability, and follow-through.
• A coaching mindset and a passion for developing others.
• Preferred: experience with distributed teams across various geographies, digital agencies or consultancies, Contentstack, Optimizely, Sitecore XM Cloud, headless CMS/DXP platforms, AI-assisted development tools, AI-enhanced UI patterns, and design systems.
