Freelance Subtitler – Dutch, Khmer, Latvian, Urdu, Czech, Kazakh, Traditional Chinese, Chinese for Taiwan

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Translate, subtitle, and ensure quality assurance for audiovisual trailer assets in accordance with client-specific guidelines.

• Translate actor dialogue and provide subtitles in SRT format.

• Convert on-screen text into the target language.

• Translate and propose forced narratives that convey essential plot-related information on-screen.

• Translate text for primary artwork and digital banners.

• Conduct quality assurance on subtitling done by other freelancers.

• Confirm ongoing work capacity prior to commencement.

• The work is expected to take place from September 2026 through April 2027.

⛳️ Requirements

• Native fluency in Dutch, Khmer, Latvian, Urdu, Kazakh, Traditional Chinese, Traditional Chinese for Taiwan, or Czech.

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in subtitling.

• Proficiency with Subtitle Edit software.

• High proficiency in English.

• Excellent attention to detail.

• Capacity to work autonomously and adhere to deadlines.

• Ability to respond promptly to feedback.

• A short subtitling test and security screening are mandatory.

• Completion of an online security assessment and viewing of a security training video is required.

• Availability for at least two titles per week during peak seasons.

• Capability to meet 24-hour delivery deadlines.

• Familiarity with Jira is considered an advantage.

• A portfolio or work samples should be available for review.
