Freelance Social Media Associate

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Create and oversee content across Newsweek’s social media platforms, including Facebook, Twitter/X, Instagram, TikTok, Bluesky, Threads, WhatsApp, Reddit, and LinkedIn.

• Monitor and engage with comments and trends, responding appropriately to enhance community interaction.

• Work alongside editors to boost breaking news and trending stories during weekend shifts.

• Analyze the performance of weekend content and share insights with the social media team.

• Ensure that all posts adhere to Newsweek’s voice, editorial standards, and visual branding.

• Coordinate with editorial and digital teams to align social media strategies with newsroom objectives.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience in managing social media accounts for a brand, publication, or organization.

• Strong knowledge of social media platforms, trends, and industry best practices.

• Capability to work autonomously and make prompt editorial decisions.

• Exceptional communication skills and meticulous attention to detail.

• Availability to work on weekends is mandatory.

• Although this position is remote, the candidate must be based in the United States.
