Freelance Garment Technician / Pattern Maker – Functional Underwear

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Germany.

📋 Description

• Evaluate current functional shirts and underwear products regarding fit, pattern/cut, comfort, and functionality.

• Enhance patterns, grading, and size charts across various sizes.

• Formulate specific improvement suggestions for existing products.

• Design, modify, and test patterns.

• Independently construct samples and prototypes to effectively assess new pattern solutions.

• Analyze fit, stretch performance, workmanship, seams, and overall wearing comfort.

• Assist in the creation and updating of technical product documentation.

• Collaborate closely with the founding team on product specifications, target audiences, and implementation strategies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Background in garment technology, pattern development, pattern construction, or pattern making.

• Profound knowledge of close-fitting, elastic garments.

• Experience with jersey, stretch fabrics, underwear, sportswear, activewear, shapewear, or related product categories.

• Proficient in managing grading, size charts, and fit optimization.

• Capability to independently sew and conduct practical tests on samples or prototypes is an asset.

• Technical insight into construction, seams, material behavior, and wearing comfort.

• Organized, solution-focused, and dependable work approach.

• Experience with functional apparel is an advantage.

• Familiarity with tech packs, production documentation, or supplier communication is also beneficial.
