Freelance Business Analyst, Data

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Macedonia.

📋 Description

• Establish and document data requirements for a data platform solution in collaboration with Finance, Loyalty, and architectural stakeholders.

• Specify clear, testable business logic, including calculations, allocations, and rules for transaction treatment.

• Develop source-to-target mapping specifications that encompass field-level mappings, transformations, and reference data.

• Create requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria in Jira for engineers and testers.

• Ensure traceability from business needs through to requirements, mappings, and design.

• Keep documentation updated as requirements evolve.

• Identify gaps, edge cases, and anomalies while proposing options and assessing impact.

• Collaborate with the product manager, data engineers, architects, and Quality Engineers throughout the delivery process.

• Respond to inquiries and validate delivered work against established requirements.

• Facilitate walkthroughs and secure sign-off with Finance and business stakeholders.

⛳️ Requirements

• Demonstrated experience as a Business Analyst on data-centric projects, such as data platforms, data warehouses, or data migrations.

• Expertise in defining both business logic and data mapping logic.

• Strong skills in writing requirements, including the ability to create and manage requirements in Jira.

• Capability to analyze and interpret data structures, tables, and fields.

• Proficient knowledge of SQL.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of engaging with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

• Proven experience working in an agile delivery team where requirements are subject to iteration.

• Familiarity with Databricks or similar cloud data platforms (a plus).

• Background in finance, revenue accounting, or accounting journals (a plus).

• Experience with loyalty programs, airline, or travel data (a plus).

• Understanding of event-driven or streaming data sources (a plus).
