This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Lead a Specialized Team: Guide and mentor an exceptional group of fraud strategists, ensuring their professional development while promoting a culture centered around rigorous, data-driven fraud system innovation.
• Own the E2E Fraud Prevention Lifecycle: Supervise the team's activities across all vital decision-making stages—from onboarding new users to offboarding and fund recovery.
• Strategic Stakeholder Partnership: Serve as a crucial collaborator with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Operations. You will navigate intricate cross-functional fraud prevention system development and optimization, ensuring our risk appetite is in harmony with both internal objectives and external partner needs.
• Systems Thinking: Gain a comprehensive understanding of our performance metrics, including loss trends and leading indicators. Assess account activities and monitor portfolio trends to uncover opportunities for Stripe to mitigate potential fraud losses. Familiarize yourself with our fraud controls and strategies to identify areas for enhancement. Collaborate closely with our core risk team to address potential risks associated with specific users.
• Executive Communication: Communicate effectively and clearly with internal leadership teams across Stripe, while also engaging with external leadership teams from Stripe’s users, financial partners, and regulatory bodies.
• Thought Leadership: Propel innovative fraud strategies that can be scaled across Stripe’s diverse product offerings. Leverage AI technologies to enhance execution and improve outcomes in fraud prevention.
• 10+ years of relevant experience, ideally in Financial Services, Payments, or FinTech.
• A dedicated coach and mentor focused on developing talent and enabling team members to excel.
• Proven experience in recruiting, cultivating, and managing diverse, high-performing teams.
• Strong collaborative, communicative, and relationship-building abilities, with a talent for influencing stakeholders across various organizations and functions.
• Exceptional verbal and written communicator capable of articulating complex ideas succinctly in high-stakes environments, both internally with Stripe leadership and externally with users, financial partners, and regulators.
• Decisive yet receptive to learning — you will face numerous critical decisions daily, understanding that occasional missteps are part of the process.
• Demonstrated capability to collaborate and execute large-scale, high-complexity projects across both technical and non-technical teams.
• Advocate for AI and automation — you actively seek to implement AI-driven tools and automation to streamline risk strategy efforts, minimize manual tasks, and enhance the quality and consistency of decisions at scale, setting a standard for your team in embracing and advancing these capabilities.
