This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Develop and sustain fraud rulesets aimed at preventing losses due to transaction-level fraud, including the continuous monitoring and evaluation of precision and recall.
• Perform in-depth data analysis on both structured and unstructured datasets to proactively detect emerging fraud threats affecting Stripe and its users.
• Work closely with product, risk, and operations teams to proactively recognize and reduce fraud vulnerabilities.
• Investigate incidents, carry out root cause analysis, and implement solutions to avert future intricate and widespread fraud attacks.
• Examine and respond to unusual clusters of transactions based on account behavior, processing volume, or other risk indicators, while minimizing adverse effects on Stripe users.
• React to incidents involving sophisticated fraud schemes to swiftly reduce exposure for Stripe, its users, and financial partners.
• Leverage analytics to discover and execute initiatives that automate manual tasks and workflows across the organization.
• Generate visualizations, dashboards, and queries to enhance visibility and oversight regarding impact, performance, loss risks, and user experience.
• Use Stripe tools and systems to facilitate systematic actions against fraudulent merchants, maintaining an exceptionally high level of accuracy to avoid negative user experiences.
• At least five years of experience in advanced data analysis and managing transaction fraud rulesets.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL.
• Experience collaborating closely with modeling, data science, and intelligence stakeholders to implement automated and scalable controls and processes.
• Proven experience in creating data visualizations and dashboards, and presenting insights to both technical and non-technical audiences, including senior leadership.
• Strong capability to drive project execution in a highly cross-functional environment.
