Associate Threat Detection Analyst – Japanese, English

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Australia.

📋 Description

• This position within the Fastly Customer Security Operations Center (CSOC) will involve monitoring and analyzing customer activities, with a particular focus on security operations such as identifying account takeovers or bot attacks and managing WAF. The primary emphasis will be on application-layer security and addressing various web technologies.

• Serve as a security expert for our customers, delivering exceptional responses to security incidents.

• Provide in-depth application security expertise on escalated cases from both customers and automated systems.

• Engage in continuous improvement initiatives and research to enhance our customer security products and operations to their fullest potential.

• Contribute to the development of processes and policies that enable our organization to scale as we expand.

• Generate and review reports for customers regarding our security services.

• Develop and manage security content tailored for customer environments.

⛳️ Requirements

• Previous experience in a SOC environment.

• Familiarity with some or all of the following foundational technologies: SaaS/Cloud or hybrid cloud deployments; Apache/NGINX/IIS or other web server platforms along with related application server technologies and frameworks.

• Proficiency in scripting with any of the following: Python, Java, Go, Rust, PHP, Unix/Linux Shell, C#, or other commonly used web languages.

• Strong background in information security with solid knowledge and practical skills in application security.

• Experience in an IT or security technical support, operations, or research capacity.

• Unix/Linux or Windows system administration experience.

• Ability to work independently while also serving as a knowledgeable mentor on security matters to the broader team.

• Proficient spoken and written English is required, with the ability to adjust complexity to suit diverse audiences.

• Experience and capability in troubleshooting software products.
