This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in California.

📋 Description

• Support the detection of atypical financial activities that may indicate money laundering, financial fraud, or other financial crimes.

• Carry out intricate investigations focused on uncovering criminal activities and preventing fraud within our platform.

• Utilize data-driven analysis to pinpoint vulnerabilities and proactively identify potential issues or areas for enhancement.

• Conduct comprehensive analyses of account and transaction histories to recognize and elaborate on established patterns related to fraud and anti-money laundering (AML) typologies.

• Execute thorough account and transaction monitoring to support Wealthfront’s BSA/AML and Sanctions initiatives.

• Coordinate fraud investigations and recovery efforts with counterpart firms.

• Present investigative findings to various stakeholders within the organization.

• Develop, implement, and revise policies and procedures to enhance Wealthfront’s anti-financial crime and transaction monitoring framework.

• Investigate fraud, identity, and user behavior to assist in the creation of rules, models, and other detection systems.

• Maintain subject matter expertise and ensure that work adheres to applicable regulations, policies, and procedures.

• Aid in identifying process improvements and opportunities for automation.


⛳️ Requirements

• 1-3 years of experience in fraud investigations within the financial services sector.

• Strong research and investigative abilities, including the capacity to synthesize extensive information and assess transaction data.

• Experience in investigating various fraud typologies, such as Wire, ACH, Debit Card, Online Account Takeover, Identity Theft, Elder Financial Exploitation, and New Account Fraud.

• Capability to manage multiple priorities and adapt swiftly in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.

• Meticulous attention to detail with the ability to produce precise, well-documented work.

• Sound judgment in making risk-based decisions with limited information.

• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong collaboration skills, enabling effective work with cross-functional teams.

• Exhibit the qualities of a true team player - curiosity, humility, intelligence, and openness to both positive and constructive feedback.

• Demonstrated curiosity and a proactive mindset towards identifying patterns and emerging risks.
