This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Act as the primary resource for employee relations inquiries and provide guidance to people managers.
• Take ownership of the employee handbook, ensuring updates reflect state-specific policies.
• Assist with benefits administration using Justworks, including managing open enrollment and conducting training sessions.
• Oversee the complete onboarding and offboarding processes.
• Ensure compliance with I-9s, E-Verify, state-specific employment laws, and general HR administrative tasks.
• Facilitate performance management activities, such as check-ins, performance improvement discussions, and year-end evaluations.
• Provide strategic advice to leadership on organizational structure, career pathways, performance management, promotions, and employee relations.
• Conduct full-cycle recruiting for open positions, from crafting job descriptions to extending offers.
• Collaborate with hiring managers to comprehend role requirements and develop effective interview strategies.
• Create standardized hiring resources, including interview frameworks, evaluation forms, and offer templates.
• Manage candidate pipelines and communication through Breezy ATS.
• Report directly to co-founders Tim and Jess while exercising autonomy in your role.
• A minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR generalist.
• Preferably, experience in a fractional, consulting, or multi-client environment.
• Demonstrated full-cycle recruiting experience, from job description creation to offer negotiation.
• Familiarity with multi-state employment compliance regulations.
• Experience with a PEO or HRIS platform; familiarity with Justworks is advantageous.
• Capability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote small business setting.
• A warm and straightforward communication style.
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to monitor compliance deadlines, benefits enrollment periods, and candidate pipelines.
• Meticulous attention to detail in offer letters, handbook policies, and multi-state compliance.
• Proficient in clear written communication for candidate outreach and sensitive employee relations discussions.
• Ability to manage HR initiatives and recruitment processes from start to finish.
• Skill in coaching managers, securing candidates, and handling challenging conversations.
• An inquisitive nature regarding the reasoning behind policies and processes, coupled with a willingness to enhance HR practices.
• Flexible weekly hours based on hiring demands.
