Fractional Controller

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Texas.

📋 Description

• Oversee daily accounting tasks in QuickBooks Online (QBO) across various client entities.

• Manage accounts payable and receivable using Bill.com, which includes processing invoices, scheduling payments, and monitoring collections.

• Administer payroll through Gusto and QuickBooks Online Payroll.

• Reconcile inventory, investigate discrepancies, and ensure accurate calculation of Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).

• Record journal entries and maintain organized, audit-ready general ledgers.

• Take ownership of the month-end closing processes and facilitate timely reporting for clients.

• Handle sales tax submissions and ensure ongoing compliance.

• Address ad hoc requests and make adjustments based on tools such as Toast or other Point of Sale (POS) integrations.

• Develop and sustain strong client relationships through proactive communication and accountability.

• Analyze issues critically when they arise and suggest improvements to systems or processes as necessary.

⛳️ Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of bookkeeping or accounting experience.

• Expert-level proficiency in QuickBooks Online (mandatory).

• Familiarity with Bill.com and Gusto (preferred).

• Strong problem-solving abilities with a knack for navigating complex data.

• Ability to manage multiple client accounts simultaneously with confidence.

• Proficient in full-cycle bookkeeping, including payroll, accounts receivable/accounts payable (AR/AP), and month-end closing.

• Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to follow-through.

• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

• Self-motivated, reliable, and oriented towards systems.

• Experience with clients in the construction industry.

• Background in a multi-client environment.
