FPGA Digital Design Engineer – Contract

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada, +1 more country.

📋 Description

• Create custom intellectual property for innovative features of Kepler satellite digital payloads.

• Refine existing digital signal processing and interface designs to enhance reliability.

• Collaborate with IP core vendors to incorporate new functionalities into Kepler designs.

• Partner with lead engineers to establish communication and network architecture for the future satellite constellation.

• Engage in conceptual design studies for new spacecraft.

• Design and develop FPGA code concentrating on DSP algorithms for signal modulation and demodulation in software-defined radios or embedded systems interfacing with processors and peripherals.

• Participate in all stages of the FPGA design process, including simulation, synthesis, placement and routing, timing closure, and hardware testing.

• Collaborate with a dedicated team of engineers to build Kepler spacecraft.

⛳️ Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.

• Over 5 years of experience in FPGA/RTL design.

• Proficiency in Verilog, SystemVerilog, or VHDL, with a readiness to learn or transition to SystemVerilog.

• Familiarity with Xilinx FPGAs, particularly Zynq and UltraScale.

• Strong comprehension of timing principles, including clock domain crossing and timing closure.

• Proficient scripting skills, such as Python, Tcl, or csh/bash.

• Experience with FPGA tools like Vivado and Quartus.

• Familiarity with HDL simulation tools such as ModelSim.
