Founding Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Develop the fundamental tax-automation platform, primarily focusing on backend tasks with some frontend involvement.

• Contribute to the release of the next significant version of the product, which includes a planned relaunch.

• Make independent backend architecture decisions while collaborating closely with the CTO and Head of Engineering.

• Create LLM and OCR agent pipelines.

• Translate the requirements of accounting firms into product features.

• Engage in the development of new products related to tax and other accounting processes, including audits.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2 to 7 years of experience as a software engineer.

• Proficient in Python; familiarity with TypeScript is highly beneficial.

• Practical experience in making backend architecture decisions.

• Background in building products from scratch at early-stage, venture-backed startups (from Seed to Series B, Y Combinator) or experience as a founding engineer.

• Expertise in both Python and TypeScript.

• Have taken ownership of features from design to production.

• Experience in deploying LLM or agent-based features into production.

• Have held responsibility for backend architecture decisions.

• A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field from a Top 50 US university is preferred; degrees in Math or Physics are also acceptable.

• A proactive builder mindset demonstrating high ownership and urgency; involvement in side projects or 0-to-1 initiatives is an advantage.

• Experience with document extraction or large-scale data pipelines is a desirable asset.
