Founding Developer Relations Lead

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of developer activation from start to finish across APIs, SDKs, CLIs, MCP servers, wallets, and innovative agent interfaces.

• Propel key adoption metrics: API usage, SDK installations, production integrations, GitHub involvement, and agent retrievals.

• Develop quickstarts, reference implementations, SDKs, CLIs, MCP servers, and developer tools that simplify integration with Payward.

• Collaborate directly with Product and Engineering teams to guarantee that every launch is ready for developers and friendly for agents from day one.

• Help shape how developers and AI agents discover, comprehend, and interact with Payward's infrastructure.

• Craft technical narratives, launch content, demos, and documentation that position Payward as a premier developer platform.

• Deliver keynotes, live demonstrations, and technical presentations at industry events and developer conferences.

• Advocate for developers internally by identifying challenges, highlighting ecosystem needs, and guiding product direction.

• Contribute to building the enduring DNA, processes, and culture of a world-class Developer & Agent Interface organization.

⛳️ Requirements

• Experience in building and scaling developer adoption at a leading developer platform company such as Stripe, Vercel, Cloudflare, Anthropic, GitHub, OpenAI, Twilio, Stainless, or a comparable organization.

• Strong technical credibility – you are able to read OpenAPI specifications, ship code, review integrations, and engage with engineers as a peer.

• A proven history of driving measurable adoption outcomes, beyond just awareness or engagement metrics.

• Exceptional storytelling skills, capable of writing launch announcements, delivering keynotes, creating demos, and making complex products feel intuitive.

• A builder mentality with a focus on shipping and experimentation.

• A deep understanding of contemporary developer ecosystems and workflows.

• Familiarity with agent-era concepts – you have experience with MCP servers, agent tooling, structured retrieval, or AI-native developer experiences, and you understand the advantages of retrieval over SEO.

• Experience collaborating closely with engineering and product teams to shape the developer experience itself, not just the surrounding messaging.
