Founding Designer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants anywhere in the world.

📋 Description

• Oversee the complete design process of Taxwire’s primary product interfaces — from user onboarding and dashboards to workflow tools and internal operations interfaces.

• Convert intricate compliance logic and tax regulations into user-friendly interfaces that are trustworthy and comprehensible.

• Collaborate with engineers to swiftly prototype and deliver refined features.

• Establish a product design system that is scalable, accessible, and maintains consistency across various use cases.

• Work alongside tax specialists to grasp the real-world edge cases and regulatory nuances that our product must accommodate.

• Assist in the evolution and definition of the company’s visual identity and voice across products, marketing, and internal tools.

• Design user experiences that harmonize speed, clarity, and trust — particularly for workflows that involve financial and regulatory risks.

• Engage in product strategy, roadmap development, and customer research in collaboration with the founders.

⛳️ Requirements

• 5–10 years of professional experience in product design, showcasing a robust portfolio of completed work (particularly in B2B, fintech, or data-intensive tools).

• Proficiency in designing complex workflows, backend systems, or enterprise applications.

• Strong systems thinking — comfortable creating scalable, reusable components and design patterns.

• Exceptional interaction design and visual design abilities. You recognize what outstanding UX entails.

• Capability to prototype swiftly and work closely with engineers to ensure accurate implementation.

• Clear and thoughtful communicator — especially in written form. We prioritize a writing-first approach.

• A profound sense of ownership. You are proactive, action-oriented, and do not require direction.

• Bonus: experience in designing for regulated or trust-sensitive sectors (e.g., finance, healthcare, payroll, tax).

• Bonus: familiarity with light brand design (e.g., presentations, websites, marketing materials) during the initial stages.
