Founding Backend Software Engineer – Senior/Staff

• Design, construct, and sustain backend systems emphasizing scalability and performance.

• Create high-performance APIs, microservices, and cloud-based architectures.

• Enhance databases and data pipelines for reliability and efficiency.

• Work closely with founders to establish technical strategy that aligns with business objectives.

• Ensure backend infrastructure is secure, resilient, and cost-effective.

• Set up best practices for software development, DevOps, and infrastructure management.

• Be considered for founding backend engineering positions at SignalFire portfolio companies.

⛳️ Requirements

• Over 3 years of experience as a backend engineer.

• Demonstrated success in delivering production systems.

• Proficiency in backend frameworks such as Node.js, Django, Flask, Ruby on Rails, FastAPI, or Spring Boot.

• In-depth understanding of databases including PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, DynamoDB, or Redis.

• Knowledge of data modeling techniques.

• Experience with cloud infrastructure platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure.

• Familiarity with containerization technologies including Docker and Kubernetes.

• Proficient in backend programming languages such as Python, Go, Java, Node.js, or Ruby.

• Understanding of CI/CD pipelines.

• Familiarity with infrastructure-as-code tools.

• Enthusiasm for backend architecture and scalable distributed systems.

• Interest in developing APIs, microservices, and cloud infrastructure.
