Founding AI Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• You are in charge of our core: the agent system that powers the product - agents that conduct investor research, craft human-like outreach, and manage investor communications from start to finish - along with the matching engine that connects founders with their investors.

• You are responsible for building, scaling, and operating it. This is the most crucial aspect of the product, and it is under your purview.

• The agent layer consists of one orchestrator directing tasks to specialized agents.

• These agents conduct research on investors, create outreach that feels personal, and handle investor interactions throughout the entire process.

• The matching engine that supports it includes embeddings, ranking, scoring, and a feedback loop that enhances match accuracy over time.

• The backend and supporting data involve Python, Postgres, Supabase, AWS, and streamlined data pipelines.

• You will be responsible for end-to-end deployment to production, with the insight to determine what to develop next as we expand.

⛳️ Requirements

• You have been among the first engineers at a rapidly growing company, leading initiatives: you understand what it takes to scale and deliver a product effectively, rather than merely managing it.

• You possess a minimum of 3 years of experience delivering production software, having taken an entire application from inception to production and maintained it continuously. This role requires a comprehensive product builder, not just a model expert.

• You have successfully deployed LLM systems into production and can provide concrete examples, including an agent system that goes beyond a simple prompt loop.

• You have experience building retrieval, ranking, or matching systems with embeddings in a production environment.

• You are proficient in Python and can articulate your thoughts clearly regarding data and systems.

• You design evaluations because you value the quality of the output.

• You take ownership of outcomes from start to finish and work swiftly with AI tools. You write the code yourself: this is a building role, not a management position. There is no team available to delegate tasks to.

• Bonus: Experience with TypeScript in production, FastAPI, vector databases, as well as knowledge of fintech or fundraising.
