This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Colorado.
• Welcome a child or youth with intellectual and developmental disabilities into your home.
• Create a safe, stable, nurturing, and consistent home environment.
• Provide daily care, encouragement, connection, and support.
• Address the child's physical, emotional, developmental, and social needs.
• Ensure regular school attendance and support educational advancement.
• Coordinate and attend medical and dental appointments.
• Assist the child in navigating the emotions and adjustments related to foster care.
• Offer recreational, community, and enrichment opportunities.
• Maintain necessary records, including developmental milestones and behavioral documentation.
• Collaborate effectively with Sample Supports, families, schools, clinicians, and other professionals.
• Adhere to Colorado regulations and Sample Supports policies and procedures.
• High school diploma or GED is required.
• An appropriate home environment with at least one available bedroom.
• Reliable transportation and the ability to safely transport a child.
• Must meet approved motor vehicle record standards.
• Successfully pass required Child/Adult Protection Services checks.
• Complete a criminal background check.
• Fulfill applicable Colorado foster care and agency requirements.
• Maintain confidentiality and adhere to Sample Supports policies and procedures.
• Must be patient, dependable, and emotionally stable.
• Show a caring commitment to helping children thrive.
• Willingness to learn about developmental disabilities, mental health, and trauma.
• Capable of responding to challenging behaviors in a calm and supportive manner.
• Open to collaborating with families, schools, clinicians, and agency professionals.
• Organized and able to maintain required documentation.
• Dedicated to creating a safe, welcoming, and consistent home atmosphere.
• Complete the Culture Index Survey.
• Competitive monthly compensation ranging from $2,000 to $5,000, based on the individual child’s level of support and care needs.
