Forward Deployed Engineer, Fintech

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Collaborate closely with client teams to gain insights into their users and challenges, and subsequently enhance their product to fulfill genuine needs.

• Create tailored solutions and integrations that effectively address specific client issues.

• Convert insights gathered from users into clear and actionable feedback for the client's product and engineering teams.

• Develop and uphold integrations with the essential services that fintech products rely on, including payment processors, banking partners, and financial data providers.

• Construct full-stack features that are increasingly powered by AI (LLM-driven workflows, agentic features, and the surrounding product), utilizing AI in your workflow to accelerate delivery while maintaining high quality.

• Assist client teams with onboarding, documentation, and training on the solutions you create, ensuring sustainability after your transition.

• Foster strong, trust-based partnerships with client teams, serving as a technical ally and advocate rather than merely a contractor.

⛳️ Requirements

• 2-4 years of experience in building and delivering production software, with a focus on full-stack or backend-oriented roles.

• Proficiency across a modern web stack (TypeScript, React, Node.js). Experience with Python is advantageous, particularly for AI-related projects.

• AI-native mindset: you inherently incorporate AI into your work (LLM APIs, agentic workflows, AI coding tools) and are confident in delivering AI-enhanced features.

• Strong analytical abilities and a builder's mindset, demonstrating meticulous attention to detail.

• Superior communication skills, capable of articulating technical trade-offs to engineers, founders, and non-technical stakeholders alike.

• Experience working directly with clients, coupled with a willingness to learn and adapt in a dynamic environment.

• Some familiarity with fintech or financial products, or a sincere interest in the field, along with an understanding of the importance of security and compliance in handling financial data.
