
Forward Deployed Engineer – Federal/National Security

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United States.
• Collaborate directly with federal and national-security clients to comprehend mission workflows, challenges, data ecosystems, and operational limitations.
• Develop and implement AI-driven applications, agents, integrations, and workflow automation within secure client environments.
• Convert client requirements into technical specifications, implementation strategies, and product insights for the core engineering team.
• Manage the entire delivery process from prototype to production, encompassing architecture, backend services, APIs, integrations, observability, testing, deployment, and customer approval.
• Integrate with client systems, data sources, identity providers, and both cloud and on-premises infrastructure.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, security, and customer teams to ensure that solutions are secure, reliable, auditable, and operationally effective.
• Troubleshoot issues in deployed environments and facilitate swift resolution across application, infrastructure, data, and integration layers.
• Contribute reusable patterns, platform enhancements, and documentation back to the wider engineering organization.
• Exercise sound judgment in environments involving sensitive data, government stakeholders, and mission-critical workflows.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles and the capability to develop production-quality systems.
• Experience in backend engineering, distributed systems, APIs, data pipelines, cloud infrastructure, or applied AI/ML systems.
• Ability to navigate ambiguous client environments and translate unclear requirements into functional software.
• Excellent technical communication skills with engineers, product teams, executives, and client stakeholders.
• Comfortable working across the entire stack when necessary, including backend services, frontend interfaces, infrastructure, integrations, and deployment processes.
• Strong sense of ownership, a proactive approach, and the ability to achieve results without waiting for perfect specifications.
• Keen debugging skills and the ability to analyze application code, data, infrastructure, networking, and client systems.
• Interest in national-security initiatives and a willingness to operate in secure or restricted settings.
• U.S. Citizen eligible for U.S. Security Secret Clearance.
