Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in Canada.

📋 Description

• Take full ownership of enterprise deployments from start to finish: Collaborate with customers to grasp legal workflows and technical landscapes; spearhead implementations within intricate organizations; convert unclear requirements into functional systems.

• Develop integrations and AI-driven workflows: Connect Spellbook with document management platforms (such as iManage and NetDocuments), identity management systems, and internal APIs. Create and execute workflow-intensive solutions (including approvals, routing, permissions, and auditability) customized to meet genuine enterprise challenges and tools.

• Customize and enhance the product for clients: Refine model inference, enrich context, and modify the product experience to address specific client requirements across various deployments.

• Promote adoption and effectiveness: Collaborate closely with end users (lawyers and legal operations), rapidly iterate based on feedback, and ensure that solutions are dependable, efficient, and actively utilized.

• Convey insights back to the platform: Recognize consistent patterns across deployments and shape the core roadmap and platform functionalities by converting customized work into scalable features.

⛳️ Requirements

• 3–7 years of experience in developing and delivering production software systems.

• Proficient in backend or full-stack engineering.

• Experience in building APIs and integrating with external systems.

• Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).

• Exposure to LLM systems (e.g., RAG, prompting, evaluations).

• Comfortable engaging directly with enterprise clients.

• Strong sense of ownership, capable of transforming vague issues into delivered solutions.
