Forward Deployed Engineer

This is a fully remote position, open to applicants in United Kingdom.

📋 Description

• Construct solutions directly at the customer's location. Develop high-quality production agents, integrations, and data pipelines.

• Adapt quickly to new environments and challenges.

• Take ownership of the technical deliverables. Create the technical strategy, implement it, and ensure a smooth handoff.

• Serve as the technical representative for Redpanda among the customer's engineering team. Build their trust.

• Aim for effective project completion from the outset. Produce documentation that can be utilized by their team.

• Share insights gained. Recognize trends across projects and relay that information back to the Product and Engineering teams.

⛳️ Requirements

• Strong engineering background. You have experience writing production-level software.

• Familiarity with agents and integrations. You have developed agents, engaged with LLM APIs, or created integrations between complex systems.

• Capability to function in diverse environments. You’ve navigated codebases not originally created by you, dealing with imposed constraints.

• Excellent customer communication skills. You can collaborate directly with a customer's engineering team.

• Experience in delivering solutions at a customer site or within a deployment setting.

• Bonus: Experience in a forward-deployed or customer-embedded engineering role — such as Anthropic FDE, OpenAI Deployed Engineer, Stripe FDE, Sierra, Palantir FDSE, or similar.
